We're children from all around the world and we all love books. We're joined by a project, where we discover the world of books and share stories with young readers from other countries. Books made us friends and our plan is to bring some books to life :)

LIBRARIES AROUND US

Posting from Slovenija ...
English - Slovenian Dictionary:
A BOOK - KNJIGA
A LIBRARY - KNJIŽNICA
We have many opportunities to meet books. In school we have Library Thursdays. Every Thursday after lunch we climb many steps to get to our school library.

This door label tells us we got it right:

This is our librarian Lučka, who always kindly helps us to find right books for us.

Our library is very beautiful and bright. It's placed in the school attic.

The shelves are full of interesting books. Total number of them is around 17.000.

And you can always find a cosy and quiet place there to discuss school matters with your school mates (or not exactly school matters ;). We just love being up there!

In the neighbourhood there's another library named after our writer Prežihov Voranc. We visit it with our parents.

This library is much bigger than our school library.

And yet we have another way to find books:

Ljubljana Bibliobus :)

It travels around streets of Ljubljana and places in Ljubljana surroundings offering books to those, who can't make it to the stacionary libraries.

If you can't come to books, the books come to you :)

Hello from Poland!

Our City
Bolesławiec is one of the most beautiful cities of the Lower Silesia region. It lies in the south - western part of Poland. Bolesławiec is well-known for its ceramics pottery. The focal point of Boleslawiec is the Old Town, where you can find the City Hall and old tenements.

SLOVENIA SPEAKING

We're 1.A class of Kolezija Primary School in Ljubljana. There are 22 of us: 13 boys and 9 girls.

Our school is situated close to the old centre of our town. It has about 400 pupils, who are 6 - 15 years old. The symbols of our school are the pinwheel on our roof and a dragon.

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenija. We think it's very beautiful.

If you'd like to get to know us better, just visit our CLASS BLOG or our SCHOOL SITES :D

We're very happy to participate in this project. Every week we read one book in school and we just love listening to the story and working on it. And we're happy we will make new friends. Greetings to all of you!

SLOVAK REPUBLIC

This is the Slovak Republic. To the east of Slovakia is city Humenne, where we live. My name´s Ivana Čepová. I teach twelve children in primary school Dargovských hrdinov 19 in the city Humenné. Seven girls and five boys: http://dvanastka.blogspot.com/ It is a class of common intellectually talented children. They are very handy with an unussual interest for everything. Books are our daily routine, so we are looking forward to our world of fairy tales with our new friends from other countries.
